The problem with pen pals (at least for me in school) was that pretty quickly
you'd run out of things to talk about with my bad French and the other kid's
almost as bad English. When you don't know how the past tense works ...

That's a brilliant analogy alright. And I agree with A there (as I almost choke on my keyboard - lol!), you run out of things to say but you *still* write about the most inane of things....making your analogy all the better :-)

Obviously, my LJ is different. Obviously ;-)
